CPDC Network Demonstration of Volunteer Engagement
Apply now for a 2019 VISTA service position opening at CPDC. Are you interested in national service, affordable housing, volunteering as a mission critical strategy for program delivery? If so, CPDC is currently recruiting for a VISTA Member to serve within our organization. We will be hosting a VISTA member from Feb 2019 – Feb 2020 to help expand our volunteer engagement strategy to deliver our best in class resident services model to a growing number of affordable housing communities in our portfolio. Past Event: 2018 Volunteer Leadership Summit
On October 27, over 100 CPDC volunteers and staff gathered for a day of learning, sharing, and growing through interactive workshops. These workshops ranged in topic from planning a service event to applying volunteer experience to a career search or advancement to resolving conflict with peer volunteers and provided our volunteer leaders an opportunity to further their knowledge, meet fellow volunteers to share and learn, and to be inspired to become volunteer leaders in their community.

Past Event: May KaBOOM! Playground Build at Park Montgomery
On May 23, CPDC, the J Williard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation, and the Marriott International, in partnerships with KaBOOM!, built an amazing playground! Over 200 volunteers came out to build this kid-designed, community supported playground for the Park Montgomery residents in Silver Spring, MD.
Past Event: Arbor View Summer Garden Refresh
Arbor View has been growing food in their community garden for the last three years. This past summer, with the support of the UDC Agricultural team and 20 volunteers, Arbor View added three new garden beds to increase the amount of fresh produce, ensuring the community has access to health food options.
