D.C. Businesses and Community Join CPDC to Host Meadowbrook Run Resident Appreciation Day
On Friday, July 22, D.C. local businesses and community partners hosted a resident appreciation event at at CPDC’s Meadowbrook Run community in Southeast D.C.
Organized by CPDC Community Impact Strategies Manager Nicole Johnson, the event was attended by Comcast, Government Printing Office Federal Credit Union and Collaborative Solutions for Communities. Lunch was provided by Leon’s Barbecue of Lanham, MD and Rita’s Ice.
The GPO credit union consulted attendees on smart money management and the many benefits of banking with credit unions. Collaborative Solutions for Communities offered job training/ job readiness programs and employment assistance.
Joining Meadowbrook Run families at the event were summer camp children and staff from CPDC’s nearby Arbor View community who took the bus over to join in the fun–collaboration common among the organization’s four Ward 7/Ward 8 communities.
