Our Programs
CPDC's Community Development Programs are spurred by residents, performed in collaboration with a variety of strategic partners, accompany the physical renovation of the properties.
While our primary focus of internal expertise has centered on youth ages 6-14, 14-24, and seniors, we remain committed to meeting the broad spectrum of needs found in any community. The partnerships we establish with external parties, thus, enrich both the lives of residents and our growth as an organization.
Our programs are a key ingredient to both the building and long-term sustainability of our communities. Programs include:
Our Operating Model
Based on the lessons learned through our successes and challenges, CPDC has adopted an organizational model encompassing five filters: relevancy, efficacy, synergy, competency, and fiscal viability to ensure a sustainable platform for the growth of the organization.
To execute this model, CPDC has established an operating model that incorporates a continuous evaluation loop of community assessment, coordination and delivery, and outcomes measurement, all driven by the needs of residents.
Elements of Success
- Impact of Proximity: Place-based programs eliminate the most common barrier to success - that of access. They also afford the opportunity for residents to actively participate in the planning and direction of the programs.
- Inclusion of All Ages: Change can begin at any age. Residents of all ages need the opportunity to learn, to share their voice with others, and to find a place where they contribute to the growth and development of their community.
- Stability through Partnerships: Ready and renewable resources, industry guidance/ expertise, and the support of local and federal governments all work to create a balanced foundation for growth.
- Value of Highly Qualified Staff: Skilled staff who continue to seek training and keep abreast of research directly effect the success of programmatic work.
- Power of Technology: Those who understand and can manipulate technology with ease will succeed in the workplace. Technology, such as the Internet and email, has also become the most facile means of communication in civic engagement.
