Volunteer with CPDC Today!
Volunteering has always been a key aspect of the community preservation and development at CPDC. Since the launch of the Volunteer Member Program in 2006, CPDC has leveraged the talents and skills of residents, interns, AmeriCorps members, mentors, corporate donors, and nonprofit partners as volunteers in our communities across the region.
Today, CPDC continues to grow its volunteer program. In the last year alone over 324 active volunteers generated nearly 13,000 hours of service. This reflects a doubling of active volunteers from the previous year and a total value of $384,569 in time and talent donated to the community!
Whether you call it volunteering, giving back, neighboring, gifting time, or just lending a hand – the willingness to share your time and talent freely to support others is a critical component of building communities that grow and thrive. We hope you’ll consider volunteering with CPDC. Check out all the ways you can get involved in the important community work going on at any one of our CPDC properties.
Internships
Looking for a way to gain real work experience in a leading affordable housing nonprofit? We offer paid and non-paid internships in a variety of departments, including: Real Estate Development and Asset Management, Marketing and Communications, Accounting, Resident Services, Volunteer Engagement, Research and Evaluation.
Volunteer Member Positions
Volunteers are a vital part of what we do. Each day volunteers are active in our communities, providing necessary capacity and assistance as Greeters, Lobby Ambassadors, Activity Coordinators, Afterschool Homework Helpers and Teen Aides, or Class Instructors in subjects like Spanish, Computers, Dance, or Financial Planning. In addition, we have numerous resident-led volunteer efforts that provide social, recreational and learning opportunity for the entire community.
Pro bono Opportunities
Pro bono or highly skilled volunteers donate their professional level services and bring expertise to an organization on a project basis that includes clear guidelines, deadlines, and deliverables. They are valuable assets for creating an infrastructure and are commonly engaged in projects related to human resources, marketing and branding, IT, financial management, and legal services. At CPDC we’ve engaged pro bono volunteers to provide fitness instruction, design and facilitate trainings, and create new branding campaigns.
