WASHINGTON, D.C., March 12 – Community Preservation Development Corporation (CPDC), a nonprofit organization that revitalizes and creates affordable communities throughout the mid-Atlantic region, today announced veteran housing and community development policy advocate Conrad Egan as chairman of its board of directors. Former head of the Congressional Millennial Housing Commission, chair of the Fairfax County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and president of the National Housing Conference, Egan has led housing policy and advocacy efforts in both private and public capacities for more than 50 years.
“Conrad has energized the affordable housing industry with his thoughtful and dedicated leadership for five decades,” said J. Michael Pitchford, president and CEO of CPDC. “He has been an organizer, a developer, and an influencer of policy during times when the need for affordable housing was gaining national attention. We are honored that he will now help guide our organization as the country moves to an unprecedented era where communities are struggling to maintain affordable homes that are close to public transportation, jobs, and opportunities,” he continued.
