Community Preservation Development Corporation (CPDC) is a non-profit organization with an innovative solution to our nation's affordable housing needs--residents not only need housing, they also need community service programs to strengthen their economic and social well-being.

The eight year old organization has turned to the Earth Pledge Foundation (EPF) to help it establish its presence on the Internet. "It's a perfect match," explains CPDC's Knox McIlwain. "We are focused on building sustainable communities through the development of affordable housing and support programs for residents and the mission of Earth Pledge is to promote sustainable development."

The entire CPDC Web site, which will debut shortly, is being managed by EPF's Division for Sustainable Media (DSM), a full-service Internet development agency that designs, produces, and maintains World Wide Web sites for non-profit organizations and businesses that practice the principles of sustainable development.

"For the CPDC Web site, we started from the ground up, creating a new logo design and a Web site which reflects the energy, importance and innovation of the organization's work," says JP Frenza, DSM's Director. "In addition to providing background information about CPDC, the Web site will serve as a digital outpost for showcasing this organization's exemplary work on transforming the traditional notion of affordable housing. Hopefully, organizations, developers and public agencies can learn from CPDC's experience and even contact the organization for assistance in meeting their own housing development and management needs."

About CPDC

CPDC's mission is to create and preserve financially sound, socially responsible affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals and families through acquisition, development and ownership; and further, to develop community service programs, with the participation of the residents, which strengthen their communities and increase opportunities for growth.
