Expanding Our Reach
CPDC’s strategic plan includes the following four distinct strategic priorities that support the organization in expanding its reach:
Strategic Opportunity #1: Partnerships with Public Housing Authorities
CPDC is interested in partnering with small- and medium-sized Public Housing Authorities (PHA) in the replacement and recapitalization of existing PHA units and in the provision of resident services. CPDC is also interested in exploring the potential for contract asset management services. CPDC will target PHAs in the boundaries of the geographic expansion articulated in its strategic plan.
Strategic Opportunity #2: Mergers, Acquisitions, and Alliances
CPDC is in a strong position both fiscally and operationally to consider merging with other not for profit developers that complement our mission, expand our reach, and strengthen our balance sheet. CPDC is interested in both distressed and non-distressed situations as opportunities to form alliances that will help the organization execute its strategy and achieve corporate goals.
Strategic Opportunity #3: Geographic Market Expansion
CPDC is seeking opportunities to expand into other geographic markets, namely the seven cities of Hampton Roads, Richmond, VA, and Baltimore, MD.
Strategic Opportunity #4: Increase Grant Funding and Initiate Joint Fundraising Efforts
CPDC’s resident services model shifted from direct delivery of services from CPDC staff to third party providers. As a result, the amount of funds needed to support partner resources has increased. CPDC has refocused its resource development efforts to incorporate joint fundraising to the benefit of our residents.
