Get Involved in Building a Playground at Cedar Heights
Today’s children are playing less than any previous generation and this lack of play is causing them profound physical, intellectual, social, and emotional harm. Not enough play spaces are being built in urban areas. Fears surrounding lawsuits and safety are trumping common sense. Recess and gym classes are being eliminated from many of our nation’s schools.
Even with all the negative factors out there, there is still hope!
CPDC is building a custom-designed playground at the Cedar Heights community in Ward 8 thanks to the amazing support of KaBOOM!, The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, and Clark Construction Group. We understand how important play is to the youth of Washington, D.C. and we are doing something about it.
You can get involved in two very important ways.
We need 75 volunteers on April 4th to make this project a reality. No experience is necessary and volunteers of all ages are welcome. You can sign up here.
