On Thursday, August 18 CPDC hosted its fourth annual Senior Picnic at Hain’s Point in Washington, D.C. This year, the picnic was attended by seniors from nine CPDC communities, including Wiley Bates in Annapolis, MD; The Overlook at Oxon Run, Arbor View, Cedar Heights and Meadowbrook Run in Southeast D.C.; Wardman Court and 1330 in Northwest D.C.; Hollins House, in Baltimore, MD; and Edgewood Commons in Northeast, D.C.
The yearly gathering began as a means for senior residents across CPDC communities to connect. The event is also an opportunity for seniors to attend a ‘reunion’–as many of them live away from their families and cannot always attend family reunions.
The 2016 picnic featured activities including: bingo, corn hole, spades and line dancing. Winners of CPDC’s first-ever Senior Fitness Challenge were also announced.
