CPDC Residents from Annapolis, Baltimore, D.C. Attend 4th Annual Senior Picnic

Underlining its commitment to seniors, CPDC this year expanded its annual senior picnic, bringing together residents from nine Washington, D.C. metropolitan area communities.

August, 24, 2016

On Thursday, August 18 CPDC hosted its fourth annual Senior Picnic at Hain’s Point in Washington, D.C. This year, the picnic was attended by seniors from nine CPDC communities, including Wiley Bates in Annapolis, MD; The Overlook at Oxon Run, Arbor View, Cedar Heights and Meadowbrook Run in Southeast D.C.; Wardman Court and 1330 in Northwest D.C.; Hollins House, in Baltimore, MD; and Edgewood Commons in Northeast, D.C.

rsz_seniorFor many residents–those living at Hollins House, Arbor View, Wardman Court, 1330, Cedar Heights and Meadowbrook Run–this was their first year attending.

The yearly gathering began as a means for senior residents across CPDC communities to connect. The event is also an opportunity for seniors to attend a ‘reunion’–as many of them live away from their families and cannot always attend family reunions.

The 2016 picnic featured activities including: bingo, corn hole, spades and line dancing. Winners of CPDC’s first-ever  Senior Fitness Challenge were also announced.
