2015 Affordable Housing Awareness Week
Affordable Housing Awareness Week (AHAW) is held annually in Richmond, VA. During the week of April 19-25, 2015, more than 500 volunteers participate in designated affordable housing projects and worksites across the Richmond region.
CPDC will be both volunteering in the region and making an exciting announcement in May. Stay tuned!

“Housing the Richmond Region: Needs, Impediments, and Strategies”

April 19-25 | Richmond region
“A Day’s Work for Affordable Housing”
- Affordable housing nonprofits, local businesses, government employees, and community leaders are invited to participate in a day of volunteer work at worksites around Richmond. Learn more about volunteer opportunities in the region.
Thursday, April 23 | Richmond
“Walking In Their Shoes”
- Coordinated by Homeward, this “homeless simulation” will give community leaders the opportunity to assume the identity of someone who might be experiencing homelessness. Participants are asked to navigate the challenges faced by the homeless population daily, including finding food, shelter, transportation, and other needed resources. Learn more.
